Last Workday of the Semester
The members of Vortex NTNU had their last official workday before the start of the exam period and Christmas break on Sunday, November 19. Throughout the semester, the members worked both technically and administratively to strengthen the organization internally, and we have made good progress with this year's project. We have also during the semester tested both our ASV and the new ROV.
Visit From Kongsberg Discovery
From November 8 to 11, we had a visit from our main sponsor, Kongsberg Discovery (KD). On Wednesday and Thursday, representatives from KD gave Vortex members the opportunity to participate in speed interviews, and on Thursday some of our members attended the Your Extreme award show and dinner. On Friday, there was a contract signing with KD. It was a special event where leaders from KD came to sign the contract and see how we are doing here. After the signing, KD had a tour of our office and workshop spaces, as well as a chance to see and learn about our drones. We ended it all with mingling and pizza at the office.
Design Review
On the 8th of November, we invited sponsors and other interested parties to a design review. This was Vortex's first official review, and the board is very pleased with the turnout and audience participation. Additionally, we want to give a shoutout to our incredibly talented members who presented their work in a pleasing way. In addition to receiving feedback and advice regarding this year's project, we also received feedback on the event itself and the content of the design review, which we will take with us into the future. A summary report from the design review can be found attached to this post.
We are now looking forward to starting again in the new year with the startup week in the second week of January and continuing the development of this year's project towards the TAC Challenge in June.
