Equinor is a Norwegian multinational energy company with 21,000 employees developing oil, gas, wind and solar energy in more than 30 countries. Equinor is the largest operator in Norway, one of the world’s largest offshore operators, and a growing force in renewables. Equinor has a great focus on digitalization and new technology, and have numerous robotic systems for offshore use, including remotely operated vehicles (ROV’s), autonomous underwater vehicles (AUV’s), and the hybrid between the aforementioned vehicles - underwater intervention drones (UID’s).
FFU is a Norwegian association for remote subsea technology which gathers everyone with an interest within this domain. The members of the association include numerous companies, institutions, students and also individuals interested in remote subsea technology. FFU has also an increased focus on sharing new technology with its members through the annual FFU seminar, in addition to the magazine “DYP”.
Nortek is a world-renowned company which develops technology and scientific instruments for measuring waves, current, turbulence and last but not least underwater navigation. We are grateful to be using Nortek’s DVL 1000 on our AUV, which is one of the world’s smallest commercially available Doppler Velocity Log. The DVL has been essential in the development of our AUV, Manta’s navigation system.
